Report: Nuggets to re-sign Mike Miller to 2-year, $5-million deal

The Denver Nuggets are re-signing veteran shooting guard Mike Miller to a two-year deal worth just over $5 million, The Vertical's Shams Charania reports, citing league sources.

Miller played sparingly in his first season with the Nuggets last year, averaging 1.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.9 minutes across 47 games.

At this point, the 36-year-old is little more than a long-range spot-up shooter. He attempted 52 of his 62 field goals from beyond the arc last season, connecting on 36.5 percent. He didn't attempt a single free throw.

The Nuggets, though, are a green group, and likely value Miller's experience and leadership. He's played 1,106 NBA games, across 16 seasons between seven teams, and won back-to-back championships with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013.
