Nets' Caris LeVert: Signs rookie contract

LeVert (foot) signed a rookie contract with the Nets on Thursday.

Analysis:

LeVert, the 20th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, had his senior season at Michigan cut short by a fractured left foot, an injury that also forced him to sit out summer league play. The Nets believe that LeVert will be back to full speed by training camp, and his ability to play both guard spots along with small forward could allow him to see the floor right away from a club lacking in perimeter talent. He averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game last season with Michigan before suffering the foot injury.
