Mavericks' Andrew Bogut: Added to Australian Olympic roster

Bogut (knee) was added last week to Australia's 12-man roster for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but it's still uncertain whether he'll be able to play, the Associated Press reports.

Analysis:

Australia coach Andrej Lemanis said that he'd wait until the day before the Olympics begin before determining if Bogut feels fit enough to suit up for the Boomers, who kick off their schedule Aug. 6. The center, who sustained bone bruising around his left knee while playing with the Warriors in the NBA Finals back in June, was traded to the Mavericks this offseason and is expected to step into a starting role with his new team. In preparation for both the Olympics and upcoming season, he's started training with the Australian team and seems optimistic about his prospects of playing in Rio.
