Ulis hits game winner to highlight competitive quarterfinals

A look at some of the highlights from the four quarterfinal games Saturday at the Las Vegas Summer League:

ULIS' GAME WINNER

Tyler Ulis buried a 3-pointer from well behind the arc to give the Suns an 82-81 overtime victory over the Nuggets. Ulis finished with 19 points and four assists in an odd Summer League game. Suns forward and No. 4 overall pick Dragan Bender was fouled as time expired in regulation and went to the line needing to hit 1 of 2 to end the game. He missed both, setting up Ulis' heroics, and ended the game with nine points on 3-for-12 shooting.

No. 7 overall pick Jamal Murray scored 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds and added three assists, a steal and a blocked shot. It was the first time former Kentucky teammates Murray and Ulis have played against each other in NBA jerseys.

Suns forward Troy Williams scored 22 points and had six rebounds. Guard Jimmer Fredette added 16 points for the Nuggets.

MOVING ON

Tyus Jones hit two free throws with 0.4 seconds left to give the Timberwolves an 81-79 victory over the Raptors to advance to the semifinal round.
