Suns' Marquese Chriss: Will sit out with illness

Chriss will miss a second consecutive summer league game Saturday with an illness, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Considering it's only summer league, the illness obviously doesn't mean much, but it does force Chriss to miss some extra reps in front of the Suns' coaching staff. Chriss is expected to battle with fellow rookie Dragan Bender for time at power forward, so Chriss' absence does give Bender a shot at getting a leg up in the competition prior to the start of training camp. However, Chriss has posted slightly better summer league numbers so far, posting averages of 10.0 points and nine rebounds over 30 minutes per outing. The Suns are currently in the quarterfinals of the summer league tournament, so if they win out, they'd have two more games left on their summer schedule.
