AP source: Cavaliers agree to deal with Chris Andersen

CLEVELAND (AP) A person with knowledge of the details says the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a deal with center Chris Andersen.

Andersen will get a one-year contract for the veteran's minimum, the person told The Associated Press on Friday on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced.

The 38-year-old Andersen rejoins LeBron James, his former teammate in Miami when the Heat won an NBA title and played in another NBA Finals in 2013-14. Andersen split last season between Miami and Memphis, averaging 3.9 points and 3.6 rebounds.

The Cavaliers also traded center Sasha Kaun and cash considerations to Philadelphia for the rights to forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum. That helped clear salary for the Cavs to sign Andersen. They were in need of a backup center after Timofey Mozgov signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.
