Spurs' Dejounte Murray: Signs rookie-scale contract

Murray signed a rookie-scale contract with the Spurs on Thursday, Mike Monroe of The Rivard Report reports.

Analysis:

Murray slipped to the Spurs with the 29th and penultimate pick of the first round of the June draft, and is viewed as a developmental option and potential successor to Tony Parker at point guard. Through five appearances in summer league play, Murray is averaging 11.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.0 assists in 24.8 minutes per game. He's not expected to see much court time with the Spurs as a rookie and figures to make multiple trips to the D-League over the course of the campaign.
