Lakers' Larry Nance: Suffers broken bone in right hand

Nance suffered a fracture to the base of his right hand in Thursday's summer league game against the Cavaliers, Mike Trudell of ESPN reports

Analysis:

Nance took a hard fall after driving to the basket in the fourth quarter of Thursday's game and immediately retreated to the locker room. The second-year forward will meet with a hand specialist Friday to be reevaluated, but initial reports are showing a fracture to the base of his third metacarpal, an injury that will take some time to heal. Nance averaged 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his rookie season, and figures to be a key part of the Lakers' young core going forward.
