As J.R. Smith continues to spend his summer shirtless in celebration of winning his first NBA championship, it's believed he returns to Cleveland when the party eventually stops.

The Cavaliers are expected to re-sign the unrestricted free agent, according to Chris Hayes of Cleveland.com, as the organization awaits word from his agent Rich Paul.

Smith became a free agent after declining his $5.4-million player option for next season. He made a similar play last year after declining his $6.4-million option, but that backfired as he was forced to accept a two-year, $10.3-million deal.

The 30-year-old started 77 games for the Cavs last season, averaging 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range. He averaged 11.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 21 playoff games.

Cleveland has had a relatively quite offseason so far. They dealt point guard Matthew Dellavedova to the Milwaukee Bucks in a sign-and-trade, and acquired Mike Dunleavy from the Chicago Bulls in a separate deal.

The Cavaliers have also yet to agree to a deal with LeBron James, who reportedly has yet to let the team know when he plans to re-sign. He's also represented by Paul.
