Report: Clippers, Speights agree to veteran's minimum deal

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement on a deal with free-agent big man Marreese Speights, sources tell The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. Speights will earn the veteran's minimum next season, ESPN's Zach Lowe reports.

The 28-year-old averaged 7.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.8 assists on 43.2 percent shooting, and 38.7 percent shooting from deep, in 72 games with the Golden State Warriors this past season.

With David West and Zaza Pachulia now on the roster, the Warriors no longer had room for Speights, opening the door for his deal with Los Angeles.

Speights will add depth to the Clippers' frontcourt, which lost Jeff Green to the Orlando Magic early in free agency.
