The Boston Celtics officially signed big man Al Horford to a reported four-year, $113-million deal, the team announced Friday.

Terms of the deal were not officially disclosed, per team policy.

Horford joins Boston after nine seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, where he posted averages of 14.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 578 games.

"I am extremely excited to be joining the Boston Celtics family," said Horford. "I look forward to working with Coach Stevens and the rest of our team towards our goal of bringing a championship back to Boston."

Horford will line up next to Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, and Amir Johnson.

"Al is a significant addition to our team and will make an immediate impact on both ends of the floor," Celtics general manager and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. "He is a proven veteran and leader, on and off the court, and we look forward to welcoming Al and his family to Boston and the Celtics organization."

With Horford officially signed, Ainge will continue to look for ways to improve his ball club before the 2016-17 season commences.
