Lakers acquire Calderon in trade with Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have traded veteran point guard Jose Calderon and two future second-round picks to the Los Angeles Lakers for the draft rights to Ater Majok.
Acquired from the New York Knicks in June, Calderon was sent to the Lakers on Wednesday as the Bulls cleared cap space to sign Dwyane Wade. Veteran forward Mike Dunleavy was also moved in a separate deal to the Cleveland Cavaliers to make room for the 12-time All-Star. Trading the two veterans opened up $12.5 million in cap room for Chicago.
Calderon started 72 games for the Knicks last season, averaging 7.6 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 28.1 minutes. The 34-year-old is owed $7.7 million next season and will serve as a backup to Jordan Clarkson.
