Clippers, Rivers agree to 3-year, $35M deal

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a three-year, $35-million deal with free-agent point guard Austin Rivers.

The deal comes as little surprise considering Austin's father, Doc, serves as Clippers head coach and president.

Rivers averaged 8.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 43.8 percent this past season. The Duke product was particularly impressive in this year's playoffs, upping his average to 10.3 points and 2.7 assists in six games.

Rivers should continue to help lead a Clippers second unit that finished last season fourth in bench scoring.
