Knicks' Joakim Noah: Signs four-year deal with Knicks

Noah agreed to a four-year, $72 million deal with the Knicks on Friday, the New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy reports.

Analysis:

The Knicks are certainly making moves this offseason -- to what end, it's not quite clear -- but they have now acquired Derrick Rose and Noah, Rose's teammate from his days in Chicago. If Rose and Noah were each five years younger, this could be the makings of a power in the East, but both players are likely well past their primes. Noah has averaged less than eight points per game in each of the past two seasons, partially due to injury issues, but partially due to a sub 45 percent shooting percentage in 2014-15 and a sub 39 percent shooting percentage last year. He'll get all the minutes he can handle next to Kristaps Porzingis in the Knicks' frontcourt, but the days of him being a unique multi-category threat at the center position are likely over.
