Report: Arthur re-signs with Nuggets for 3 years, $23M

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Unrestricted free agent Darrell Arthur is staying in The Mile High City for the foreseeable future.

The 28-year-old power forward has agreed to a three-year, $23-million deal to remain with the Denver Nuggets, league sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. The third year will have a player option, according to CBS Sports' Matt Moore.

Arthur reportedly accepted a discount to stay put, stemming from his faith in management and the future of the franchise, according to The Denver Post's Chris Dempsey.

Denver has been Arthur's home for the past three seasons. He was dealt to the Nuggets by the Memphis Grizzlies in the summer of 2013, along with Joffrey Lauvergne, in exchange for center Kosta Koufos.

Arthur was one of the stronger defenders on the 33-49 Nuggets during the 2015-16 campaign, with the team allowing 4.8 more points per 100 possessions when he wasn't on the floor.

In 70 appearances, Arthur averaged 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds on 45.2 percent shooting.
