Report: Pelicans, Solomon Hill agree to 4-year, $52M deal

The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly reached an agreement with free-agent forward Solomon Hill.

Hill will earn $52 million over the next four years, a source told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Several teams were said to be in pursuit of Hill, who enjoyed a breakout campaign in the Indiana Pacers' seven-game series loss to the Toronto Raptors. Hill thrived as a small-ball power forward and connected on an absurd 57.9 percent of his threes.

His past performance suggests that's an outlier, as Hill's career 3-point percentage sits at 32.5 across three seasons. But the 25-year-old does offer a strong defensive presence and positional versatility which could see him line up at power forward alongside Anthony Davis.

In 59 games last season, Hill averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game.
