The Indiana Pacers have reached an agreement with free agent center Al Jefferson.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports that the veteran center will receive $30 million across a three-year pact.

Given that the Pacers have made a significant push to reshape their roster to suit an up-tempo style of play, tacking on a low-post scorer like Jefferson makes for a curious decision. The edict to speed up was made abundantly clear with the additions of Thaddeus Young and Jeff Teague.

However, Jefferson could make for an effective scorer off the bench and thrive in certain matchups. He's proven himself to be one of the best low-post scorers across his 12-year career, and he's only two seasons removed from an All-NBA Third Team nod.

The 31-year-old Jefferson averaged 12 points and 6.4 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game last season with the Charlotte Hornets.
