Lakers' Jordan Clarkson: Receives qualifying offer

Clarkson received a qualifying offer from the Lakers, making him a restricted free agent, Brad Turner of the LA Times reports.

Analysis:

By extending a qualifying offer to Clarkson, the Lakers will be able to match any offer Clarkson receives in free agency. In his second season, Clarkson saw an increased role and increased production as a result, going from 25 minutes and 11.9 points per game his rookie year to 32.3 minutes and 15.5 minutes per game this past year. With Kobe Bryant now gone, Clarkson could see an even larger role, possibly as a starter.
