Magic's Mario Hezonja: Will play for Croatia in Olympic qualifying

Hezonja will suit up for Croatia in the qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

Hezonja's commitment to his native country means that he won't participate in summer league with the Magic, but the fact that he's still playing basketball in a competitive setting is just as well. The Magic cleared out some depth on the wing by trading Victor Oladipo to the Thunder last week in a four-player deal, but the acquisition of power forward Serge Ibaka means that Aaron Gordon will likely move over to a starting role at small forward. As a result, Hezonja will probably have to settle for a bench role to begin his second NBA season.
