Hawks' Mike Muscala: Hawks pick up team option

The Hawks officially exercised Muscala's $1.01 million team option for the 2016-17 season Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

As expected, the Hawks will retain Muscala for at least one more year as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. The backup big man appeared in 60 contests last season, averaging 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game.
