Report: Jazz making Burke available after acquiring Hill

The Utah Jazz's recent acquisition of George Hill could signal the end of Trey Burke's run in Salt Lake City.

Burke, who's been with the organization since going ninth overall in the 2013 NBA draft, has been made available for trades, league sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.

With Hill now in the fold, as well as a returning Dante Exum following his recovery from a torn ACL, Burke has seemingly become less of a priority in the backcourt rotation, making him expendable in the eyes of management.

Utah also has point guard Raul Neto signed through the 2017-18 campaign, while Shelvin Mack, who started 27 of his 28 games in a Jazz uniform last season, has a reasonable team option worth approximately $2.4 million.

The team landed Hill in a three-team trade with the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks, with former All-Star Jeff Teague making his way home to Indianapolis, while Atlanta ended up with Utah's No. 12 pick in last week's draft (Baylor's Taurean Prince).

Burke's playing time has been on a downward slope since earning himself a spot on the All-Rookie First Team in 2014. In 64 appearances last season, the 23-year-old Michigan product averaged 10.6 points on 41.3 percent shooting, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 21.3 minutes coming off the bench.
