Report: 76ers to be serious suitors for Warriors' Barnes

The Philadelphia 76ers plan to be serious suitors for Golden State Warriors restricted free agent Harrison Barnes, sources tell Marc Stein of ESPN.

After years of rebuilding, new 76ers general manager Brian Colangelo has said he plans to be highly aggressive this offseason in an attempt to build around a young core of Ben Simmons, Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, and Joel Embiid.

Barnes has expressed a strong interest in returning to the Warriors, but Golden State may not be able to afford the 24-year-old should its pursuit of Kevin Durant or another high-profile free agent be a success.

Barnes has spent his entire four-year career with the Warriors and is coming off a season in which he averaged 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 66 games (59 starts).
