Warriors' Damian Jones: May not be ready for training camp

Jones (pectoral) will be in a sling until the end of July and may not be ready for the start of Warriors training camp in September, Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Jones underwent surgery earlier this month to repair a torn pectoral muscle, something that precludes him from playing in the Las Vegas Summer League next month and could delay his return to the court as long as six months, according to the Warriors, who selected him with their first-round pick (30th overall) in Thursday's draft. The center from Vanderbilt is viewed as a long-term project, so he isn't expected to contribute much as a rookie even once he's at full health.
