Report: Rockets sign undrafted free agents Wiltjer, Taylor

Dennis Wierzbicki / USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets appear to have been quite active on the post-draft free-agent market. In addition to apparently signing Gary Payton II, the Rockets reportedly added Kyle Wiltjer and Isaiah Taylor on three-year deals early Friday morning, according to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen.

Wiltjer just wrapped an exceptional two-year run with Gonzaga, where he transferred after his sophomore season in Kentucky. He profiles as a stretch-four, with a quick release and terrific range for his position. In his two seasons with the Bulldogs, he shot 44.9 percent from deep while averaging 18.6 points per game.

Taylor, a three-year starter for Texas, averaged 15 points per game in his junior season in 2015-16. Though he's a strong ball-handler with a quick first step, the soon-to-be 22-year-old has yet to significantly improve as a shooter, hitting just over 40 percent of his shots in his career in Austin.
