Mavericks' A.J. Hammons: Heads to Dallas

Hammons was selected by the Mavericks with the 46th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Analysis:

Hammons spent all four years at Purdue and matured into one of the more imposing post players in the nation, averaging 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in his senior year. JaVale McGee and Salah Mejri are the only centers currently on the books for the Mavericks next season, so depending on how the offseason shakes out, the seven-footer may be able to find his way into a recurring role off the bench.
