Jazz's Gordon Hayward: Will not play in Olympic games this summer

Hayward won't play for Team USA in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports.

Analysis:

Hayward joins a long list of American players elected to sit out the games, including the likes of Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Andre Drummond and (likely) LeBron James. Instead, Hayward will continue to work out on his own this offseason with the hope of continuing his year-to-year improvement after averaging a career-high 19.7 points per game in 2015-16.
