Raptors' Kyle Lowry: Will play in Summer Olympics

Lowry has committed to playing for Team USA in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports.

Analysis:

It will be the first Games for Lowry, who earned a well-deserved All-Star nod this season after averaging 21.2 points, 6.4 assists and 4.7 rebounds while leading the Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals. Though all of Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard and Russel Westbrook have withdrawn their names for consideration for the U.S. team, Lowry may still have to battle Kyrie Irving for the starting duties at point guard if Irving agrees to play this summer.
