New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has committed to this summer's U.S. Olympic squad, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls has also committed, reports ESPN's Marc Stein.

Rio de Janeiro would mark Anthony's fourth Summer Games appearance and he would be chasing his third straight gold medal. He said in April he was undecided about playing, and at age 32 he would represent one of the American team's senior statesmen.

Rio would be Butler's first Olympic experience and like Kyle Lowry - also reportedly named to the team Wednesday - his first major USA Basketball appearance.

Meanwhile, Anthony's close friend and teammate in the last four Olympics, LeBron James, told reporters Wednesday he was leaning towards skipping Rio.
