The Chicago Bulls selected Michigan State swingman Denzel Valentine with the 14th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Valentine was named a consensus All-American for his sterling senior season, in which he led the Big Ten in points (19.2) and assists (7.8) per game, while raining threes at a remarkable rate (44.4 percent on 7.5 attempts). He's a terrific shooter and passer, with a great feel for the game.

There are concerns, however, about how his skill set will translate to the next level, given his lack of foot speed and athleticism. Valentine may struggle to create separation from NBA defenders, or beat them off the dribble. He was a poor defender even at the college level, and figures to remain a liability on that end for the foreseeable future.
