Italian sharpshooter Alessandro Gentile is looking to cross the Atlantic this summer.

Gentile, a 53rd pick of the Houston Rockets in 2014, is determined to sign an NBA deal, he told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Gentile wants to play with newly hired head coach Mike D'Antoni, who was an icon in the Italian league, winning championships as a player and coach.

"My goal is to play in the NBA next year," Gentile said. "I really hope this can happen. For me, Mike D’Antoni is like a legend in Italian basketball, an example for everyone. For him to coach me would be very, very nice."

Gentile profiles as a playmaking wing. He combines a 6-foot-7 frame with excellent ball skills, and has shown to be an effective scorer after averaging 20 points per game in the Euroleague competition this season
