Curry says loss will fuel Warriors

Getting to a championship round and losing is tough for a team as they have to bear with the feeling that the whole season has gone down the drain. In the Golden State Warriors' case, a historic 73-9 season may feel like it went for naught.

"It hurts, man," Stephen Curry said after the Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA title-clinching victory in Game 7 on Sunday, according to ESPN's Ethan Strauss. "I mean, that's all I'm really kind of marinating on right now."

The Warriors became the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 lead in The Finals, dropping the last three games by an average of 11 points. After losing only nine games all season long, Golden State lost the same amount in the postseason.

"It's not a good feeling, like I said," the reigning two-time NBA MVP said. "At the end of the day, we want to keep this memory so that it will fuel us as we stay together as a team."

Klay Thompson said the crushing loss is simply something the Warriors haven't been used to the past two years.

"It is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through in my sports career," he said. "It's just difficult to process right now."
