Grizzlies' Jordan Adams: To undergo cartilage transplant surgery

Adams (knee) will undergo cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee Wednesday, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders reports.

Analysis:

Adams has dealt with recurring issues in his right knee throughout his two seasons in the NBA and most recently underwent surgery in January, ending his 2015-16 campaign after he appeared in only two games. This latest procedure will be the third in less than a calendar year, and he figures to miss extended time throughout the summer. The Grizzlies have yet to release a timetable, but it's possible Adams' absence could extend into training camp.
