The 2015-16 campaign was one Chicago Bulls big man Joakim Noah would rather soon forget. He was removed from the starting lineup, his team missed out on the postseason for the first time since 2008, and a left shoulder injury cost him all but 29 games.

This summer presents Noah with a new lease on life and a potential fresh start as he enters unrestricted free agency for the first time in his career.

"I'm very focused on free agency. I spent the last 10 years in Chicago, there were good moments and bad moments but now I have an incredible opportunity for a player, being recruited by a team, I definitely want to live that kind of experience," Noah told Sportando.com during an appearance in Treviso as part of the Adidas Eurocamp. "It's new for me but it's something very intriguing for a player."

The 31-year-old saw his role with the team diminish under new head coach Fred Hoiberg, which was just one of several reasons why he won't be looking back on the season very fondly.

"Playing time, man," Noah replied when asked what the biggest change was going from former coach Tom Thibodeau to Hoiberg. "I haven't played many minutes this season and that was a major change for me. It was difficult, there was a change of culture in the team and many things changed. Then I got hurt and the season was over for me. I was very disappointed, man. Definitely a bad season but you know, you need to go through adversity to become a better player."

Reports have emerged that Noah has already told some of his teammates that he won't be returning, citing his lack of faith in the front office to get the ship back on course.

The team, however, reportedly considers re-signing Noah a top priority. It was just two years ago when he won NBA Defensive Player of the Year and finishing fourth in NBA Most Valuable Player voting.

In the 29 games he suited up for, Noah averaged career lows in points per game (4.3) and field-goal percentage (38.3). He also contributed 8.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and a block in 21.9 minutes.
