The Detroit Pistons have traded point guard Spencer Dinwiddie to the Chicago Bulls for power forward Cameron Bairstow.

With backups Aaron Brooks and E'Twaun Moore entering free agency, the Bulls were in need of added guard depth. In two seasons with the Pistons, Dinwiddie averaged 4.4 points and 2.7 assists on just 31.4 percent shooting, as he struggled to hold down a spot in Stan Van Gundy's rotation.

The Pistons have several bigs entering the open market this summer, making the decision to add Bairstow a logical one. The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 2015-16, while playing in just 5.7 minutes.

Bairstow has a team option for next season at just under $1 million, while Dinwiddie's $980,431 contract is guaranteed.
