Warriors' Speights loses respect for LeBron for baiting Green

While Draymond Green was the one feeling the wrath of the NBA for his actions in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, some of his Golden State Warriors teammates believe the All-Star forward was baited by The King, which shouldn't go unnoticed.

Green was issued a flagrant-1 foul for striking LeBron James in the groin area at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday night. This seemed to stem from James walking over him after he was knocked to the floor. As a result, Green has been suspended for Game 5 at Oracle Arena on Monday.

Warriors reserve Marreese Speights truly believes James was aware of how many flagrant points Green had at that point, and tried to trigger a reaction out of him knowing he could possibly be reprimanded.

"A guy does something like that, you kind of lose respect for him," Speights told ESPN's Ethan Strauss. "I had a lot of respect for LeBron over his career, since he was in high school. But, do things like that to get a guy suspended? That kind of disrespectful."

Considering the circumstances, Speights thinks what Green did was totally justified.

"It's messed to suspend a man over nothing. If somebody put they' balls on your head, what you supposed to do?," Speights asked. "Balls are on the back of his head. It's kind of messed up man, but hey."

James was outspoken during his postgame press conference on Friday about how Green went overboard with his trash talk. Klay Thompson even went as far as implying the four-time MVP is too sensitive for taking it so personally.

Speights also believes that's the case, and that Green's negative reaction when he and James got heated was only triggered because of James' actions.

"On that court, a lot of things are said. People say bad stuff to everybody on the court all the time," Speights said. "You're just in a situation that, you want to get a guy suspended. You started it. You stepped on a man's neck. Man ain't even hit him in the balls, though. It's kind of a messed up situation."
