Following a trade with the Orlando Magic, the Portland Trail Blazers have selected Maryland's Jake Layman with the 47th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Blazers will send Orlando $1.2 million and a 2019 second-round pick.

Standing at 6-foot-9 with quick feet, Layman is capable of playing either forward position at the pro level, but is likely to have a bigger impact at power forward given his incredible athleticism. Although he lacks a standout trait, the hope is that he'll one day develop into an all-around offensive player.

While Layman is a capable three-point shooter, he struggles to create his own shot, and generally relies on open space to generate offense.

Layman has often been criticized for his lack of aggressiveness throughout his collegiate career, and will undoubtedly have to play at a higher energy level to succeed in the pros.
