Steph Curry may have been named the first unanimous MVP, but things would've been different if J.R. Smith had a say in the matter.

The Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard stated on Thursday that he would've voted for his teammate, LeBron James, if given the opportunity, believing that nobody effects the game in more ways than "The King."

"Other than LeBron, I don't really know who else to vote for," Smith said. "I mean somebody who does everything for a team, whether it's scoring, getting stops, rebounds, steals, blocked shots. There's not more of a complete player, so I don't see how he couldn't be the most valuable."

Smith added that if he couldn't vote for his teammate, he would a choose another player capable of wreaking havoc with his all-around play.

"If I couldn't vote for somebody on my own team I'd probably vote for a guy like Russ (Westbrook)," Smith said. "I mean, he's energy, effort, consistently, got the total package. You gotta go for a guy like that."

After realizing that he was throwing Curry under the bus, Smith clarified that the Golden State Warriors point guard would still be in his top five, after watching the impact he had on Golden State's 73-win season.

"Would he be in my top five?" Smith added. "I mean, yeah, he's very valuable to the team, to what they do. If you take him out of the equation I think they're a totally different team, but I mean he would definitely be in there. Absolutely."
