Pierce close to securing trademark for 'I called game' phrase

Paul Pierce is a man who truly knows his brand.
One of his more infamous quotes came after he banked a game-winning jumper during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in 2015 as a member of the Washington Wizards.
When asked by ESPN's Chris Broussard after the shot whether he called bank or not, Pierce responded: "I called game."
"The Truth" is looking to cash in on that beautiful one-liner of his, having filed for a trademark on the phrase last year. The current ESPN/ABC NBA Finals analyst will become the registered owner in the next few months, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.
The Wizards didn't shy away from making a quick buck on the line, putting it on the front of T-shirts at their pro shop days after the clutch bucket.
