A former fan favorite may be hoping for a return to the Bay.

Matt Barnes, once a catalyst on the "We Believe" teams that captured the hearts of many in Oakland, is considering a second go-around with the Golden State Warriors.

But there's a catch: Barnes wants the Cleveland Cavaliers to pull off the comeback to make his homecoming more likely.

"Cleveland in 7," Barnes said in a recent episode of Hollywood Unlocked. "Because I want to possibly go to Golden State next year and help them win."

Putting aside his off-court troubles - of which there are many - Barnes would make for a solid bench option for the reigning champs. He can play multiple positions, can knock down catch-and-shoot threes, and he could take the burden off Draymond Green as the team's agitator and enforcer.

Warriors fans should be familiar with Barnes' work dating back to 2007, when he was a key bench piece in the Warriors' famous upset over the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks.

The 36-year-old averaged 10 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists last season and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent.
