Hawks select DeAndre Bembry with No. 21 pick in NBA draft

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks have selected St. Joseph's forward DeAndre Bembry with the No. 21 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

The Hawks have now taken two forwards in this year's draft, and appear prepared to move on should Kent Bazemore leave Atlanta this summer.

An athletic 6-foot-6 swingman with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Bembry spent three years with the Hawks program, winning Atlantic-10 Player of the Year honors last season.

Bembry could prove to be one of the value players of the draft as he possesses top-flight athleticism and excellent passing skills. His jump shot appears to have an unorthodox leg kick on follow-through, but his development has shown enough promise that he should be able to continue improving his shooting touch.
