'Professional scorer' Durant not bothered by shooting woes

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant isn't fretting about a bad shooting night.

After missing 21 shots in Game 6, Durant reassured fans he would figure out his shooting woes. He finished with 29 points on 31 field-goal attempts as the Thunder lost in heartbreaking fashion Saturday.

"On the offensive end, you don't have to worry about me because I'm a professional scorer," Durant told reporters Sunday. "And I know how I've been doing this for so long. I'm not saying I'm going to have a great game every night or I'm going to shoot well every night, but I tend to figure things out on the offensive end."

Durant has already proven himself the Thunder's most dangerous scorer after dropping 62 points on 33 shots in Games 2 and 3, but he's shot under 40 percent in the series' other four games.

Game FGM FGA Points
1 10 30 26
2 11 18 29
3 10 15 33
4 8 24 26
5 12 31 40
6 10 31 29

Moreover, Durant came up woefully short when his team needed him most Saturday. The 2014 MVP shot 1-of-4 and coughed up two turnovers over the final six minutes of Game 6 to allow the Golden State Warriors to complete the comeback and force a Game 7.

Credit Andre Iguodala for his stellar defensive work against Durant. Iguodala is showing once again why he earned 2015 Finals MVP honors for his defensive effort against LeBron James by smothering the five-time scoring champion.

But nobody, not even Iguodala, can keep one of the greatest scorers in NBA history down for too long. Durant is going to get his points eventually.
