Entering Saturday night's contest winless in the Western Conference finals on the road, Golden State Warriors vocal leader Draymond Green knew his team would need a huge effort at Chesapeake Energy Arena to force a Game 7 at home.

"Game 5 was a battle. This was a war," Green told ESPN's Ethan Strauss.

After leading Game 5 for much of the game, the Warriors trailed for the majority of Saturday night's contest, needing to overcome an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take Game 6.

While Green didn't have the shooting performance that teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson enjoyed, the 6-foot-7 forward filled the stat sheet for Golden State, collecting 12 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and a plus-16 rating in 43 minutes.

"We battled. We defended well ... We gave ourselves a chance," Green told reporters.

After struggling mightily in Games 3 and 4, Green has bounced back of late, collecting double-doubles in back-to-back Warriors victories.
