Celtics' Kelly Olynyk: Out for five months post surgery

Olynyk said that he'll require five months of recovery time from arthroscopic right shoulder surgery before he's cleared for contact, Scott Souza of the Providence Journal reports.

Analysis:

Olynyk underwent the procedure earlier this week after aggravating his shoulder during Game 1 of the Celtics' first-round playoff series with the Hawks. The approximate recovery timetable means that Olynyk won't be able to suit up for Canada in the 2016 Summer Olympics, and he's also likely to miss the entirety of training camp. While he should be closer to full health by November, Olynyk may be unavailable for the first few weeks of the season while he attempts to regain conditioning following the long layoff due to injury.
