Westbrook, Green trade shots over kick

Two headstrong NBA stars: check. A controversy over a kick to another player's groin in a playoff game: check.

With that in mind, Russell Westbrook didn't mince any words after Sunday's 133-105 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals.

"I think it's intentional," Westbrook told reporters of Draymond Green's outstretched leg finding its way between the wickets of Steven Adams. "That's two times in the last two games ... you can't keep kicking somebody in their private areas."

Green could face a suspension from the league office Monday over the incident, which occurred in the second quarter of Sunday's game. In Game 2, Green's leg also made contact with Adams' nether regions while he was going up for a shot.

"He'll probably say he didn't do it on purpose," Westbrook correctly added. "But the way I look at it, it looks intentional to me."

On Monday morning, Green replied to the comments.

"Russell said I did it on purpose," the forward said, according to the Los Angeles Times' Ben Bolch. "But he's a part of the superstar group that started all this acting in the NBA."

Green has been adamant the contact with Adams' groin was accidental. In trying to draw contact, unfortunate contact can be made.

"I'm not bracing for the worst," Green added. "Russell Westbrook kicked me at the end of the half, he just didn't catch me where I caught Adams."

Warriors coach Steve Kerr continued on Westbrook.

"To me, it's no different than Westbrook kicking his legs out on the threes when he feels like there's contact."

When Westbrook was made aware of the comments, he responded predictably.

"I don't know about no flopping or nothing. I don't know how to flop," Westbrook said. "Seems like (Green) was the one kicking his legs."
