Warriors down 2-1: 'We've been here before'

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY

Twice on their run to an NBA championship last season, the Golden State Warriors found themselves down 2-1 in a series: to the Memphis Grizzlies in round two, and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

The Oklahoma City Thunder of today, however, are a different beast.

"Yeah, we've been in this position before, but this is a different team," Dubs center Andrew Bogut said after Sunday's 133-105 Game 3 loss, according to SB Nation's Tim Cato. "If we're clutching at straws trying to figure out positives, that's one you put on the board, but we know what we have to do going into next game."

The 2015 Grizzlies were simply overmatched. The Cavaliers were decimated by injuries and running on fumes. The Thunder on the other hand, appear to be gaining confidence by the contest and are a real threat to end the Warriors' hopes of repeating. And that's before any ruling comes down regarding Draymond Green's karate kick to Steven Adams' crotch.

"We've been there before," Warriors guard Shaun Livingston reiterated. "But it's not easy."
