Atlanta Hawks owner Tony Ressler is expected to make a push for free agent Kevin Durant this summer, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Jeff Schultz.

The Hawks would be joining a list of teams likely to reach the double-digits in pursuing the 2014 NBA MVP. The rising salary cap means more franchises than in years past will be in play for big-name free agents in 2016, and that includes teams not historically active on the market.

The Hawks have an incumbent priority in center Al Horford, who is also about to reap the rewards of the spiked cap. The idea of a Durant-Paul Millsap-Horford frontcourt is certainly intriguing, although Horford is expected to garner significant interest elsewhere, as well.
