Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas: Out for Game 2

Valanciunas (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's Game 2 against the Cavaliers, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

This is essentially a formality, as Valanciunas acknowledged that he's only about "50 percent" of the way recovered from the sprained ankle he sustained in Game 3 of the Raptors' second-round series with the Heat. Raptors GM Masai Ujiri expressed uncertainty Wednesday as to whether Valanciunas would be able to return at any point during the Eastern Conference Finals, so at this point, it looks as though the team will continue to lean heavily on Bismack Biyombo and Patrick Patterson in the frontcourt.
