Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas: Officially out for Game 1

Valanciunas (ankle) has officially been ruled out for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Cavaliers, ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst reports.

Analysis:

As expected, Valanciunas will continue to sit out as he recovers from a sprained right ankle he sustained in Game 3 of the second-round series with the Heat. The big man is without a timetable for a return, but coach Dwane Casey said Monday that he's "a ways away from contributing" in a playoff game. The Raptors haven't ruled Valanciunas out beyond Game 1, but the prevailing belief is that he'll also sit out Game 2 before the series shifts to Toronto. Casey has turned to Bismack Biyomobo at center since Valanciunas went down, and Biyombo, who put up 17 points and 16 rebounds in Sunday's Game 7, figures to continue seeing big minutes to begin the Eastern Conference Finals.
