Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas: Likely out for Games 1 and 2

Coach Dwane Casey said Monday that he doesn't anticipate Valanciunas (ankle) will be available for either of the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals with the Cavaliers, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN.com reports. "He's a little ways away from contributing in a playoff game," Casey said.

Analysis:

The center has yet to resume basketball-related activities since spraining his ankle in Game 3 of the second-round series with the Heat, and doesn't appear to be close to a return. While the Raptors aren't ruling him out for the series with the Cavaliers, Valanciunas will need to show some tangible progress over the next several days for him to have a legitimate shot at taking the court. For now, the Raptors will have to cast their lot with Bismack Biyombo as their starting center.
