LeBron didn't 'indulge' idea of playing Heat in East finals

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

With the Toronto Raptors defeating the Miami Heat on Sunday, the Eastern Conference finals is now a Great Lakes affair rather than a narrative about LeBron James versus his old team.

That appears to suit James just fine.

Asked whether he'd started thinking about heading back to Miami in the next round, James told reporters, "I really didn't indulge into it too much.

"I was just waiting around just like the rest of the guys, getting our work in and whoever was going to advance we'd be ready to play."

Last week, James conceded he was intrigued at the idea of playing his good friend Dwyane Wade in the conference championship. While the pair went to battle together in four straight NBA Finals, they've never faced off in a postseason series.

When pressed by a reporter about whether that bothered him, James replied rather tersely.

"No," he said.
